Chopta

It serves as the base for trekking to Tungnath and Chandrashila. Tungnath Temple
At an altitude of 3,680 meters, Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world. This sacred site is part of the Panch Kedar pilgrimage and is a must-visit for devotees and history buffs. The 3.5 km trek from Chopta to Tungnath is moderately challenging and offers stunning vistas of rhododendron forests and majestic peaks.

Deoriatal
Deoriatal, a pristine high-altitude lake, is known for its crystal-clear waters that reflect the surrounding Chaukhamba peaks. The 2.3 km trek from Sari village to Deoriatal is relatively easy, making it accessible for beginners and families. The lake's serene ambiance, complemented by its rich flora and fauna, makes it a perfect spot for camping and stargazing.

Best Time to Visit
The Chopta-Tungnath-Deoriatal region is a year-round destination. Summers (April to June) offer pleasant weather and blooming greenery, while winters (November to March) are ideal for snow lovers. The post-monsoon season (September to November) provides clear skies, perfect for witnessing the majestic Himalayan ranges.

Itinerary
Day 1

Rishikesh-Chopta/Ukhimath:

After breakfast, check out of the hotel. Later you drive to Chopta which is 210 km away. Chopta is one of the most beautiful spots in this part of the Himalayas. It has lush green landscapes and is often remarked as Mini Switzerland, stretching for almost 40 km. The altitude varies from 6000 ft to 13,000 ft. Transfer to hotel and relax in the evening. Stay overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 2

Chopta-Deoriatal-Chopta/Ukhimath:

After a healthy breakfast, you will move forward by a drive to sari village that takes approx 1 hour by drive and then trek to Deoriatal which is a lake at a high altitude of 5000ft with a lovely view of the 23,000ft high Chaukhamba peaks. Later in the evening return back to Chopta. Drive back to Ukhimath hotel.

Day 3

Ukhimath- Rishikesh:

Rishikesh

After breakfast drive back to Rishikesh/ Haridwar. Stay overnight in Rishikesh/Haridwar.
